Fortunately, we are on AT&T Next, which means that for the price of our phones, we could cancel our service at any time. So I called AT&T and told them I'd be sending them the remainder of our payments and switching to Verizon. And lo and behold, they offered to match Verizon's price. So now we have the phones we want, and we're saving $20 a month.
The woman I spoke with said they will also match Verizon's 15GB for $100 a month, $30 per month lower than AT&T's listed price. That works out to a savings of $360 a year. That said, they are not matching the activation bonus that Verizon is offering right now, so if you're shopping for new service that's definitely something to consider.
